Company Profile

iPBX Hosting is a division of AINEO Corporation. AINEO was founded in 1997 in Tokyo, Japan by engineers from the Japanese information technology (IT) services provider NEC and the American telecommunications firm AT&T.

AINEO is an international trading company, with divisions for managed IT service providers, technology infrastructure, and cloud hosting providers of business email and web systems. AINEO is based in Japan, but does work around the globe from our main offices in the high-tech hub of Tokyo.

iPBX Hosting was built and is maintained by the technical service team within AINEO called TRIBE Support. The TRIBE Support team has been installing telecommunications equipment in offices, warehouses, datacenters, airline terminals, parks and dealing rooms across Japan since AINEO began. These systems are the channels for billions of dollars in revenue for our partner clients.

As of December 2013, the group supports more than 6,000 terminals nationwide in Japan. Our team is made up of native Japanese speakers who are fluent in English.

About the Founder of AINEO

Spencer Wolfe came to Japan for the first time in 1986 with a US judo team. Upon completing university, he returned to Japan the day after he graduated, and has been here ever since. He initially worked at Ricoh Company, but was then recruited in 1993 by the American telephone company AT&T, which originated with the famous inventor Alexander Graham Bell.

As sales manager for AT&T’s business in Japan, Mr. Wolfe supplied and supported the equipment that allows businesses to communicate. While he developed the dealer network for AT&T in Japan, he saw salespeople struggle to fully understand the technology and who were unable to provide good customer service. He decided to create AINEO as he believed he could build a better team of professionals to take care of those so reliant on their telecommunications systems for their daily business. The driving concept behind the company was: AINEO builds technology better and runs it better. And that ethic continues to this day.

In 1997, AINEO was born. It started as a small business — so small, in fact, that it was little more than one phone and fax machine in a spare bedroom in Saitama prefecture, just north of Tokyo. Since then, much has changed. AINEO has installed thousands of systems across Japan and works with every major global organization. Expansion took off in 1999 when AINEO saw the onset of internet protocol in real time. In addition to telecommunications, AINEO began working on computer and network-based systems, selling and implementing systems, and closing its first 100 million yen in equipment sales that year.

On top of network systems and computers, AINEO continues to install on-premises phone systems for the world’s leading brands. As telephony began its transition from a digital to an internet protocol, Mr. Wolfe and the AINEO team saw numerous possibilities for hosted phone systems as an alternative to installing systems at each company.

In 2010, AINEO began providing hosted phones to internal teams. This system proved invaluable during the great earthquake of March 2011 in Japan. Throughout the ordeal, AINEO was able to provide uninterrupted technical support due to its reliable service. In 2012, iPBX Hosting was officially launched. The ethic of better technology, better support, and cost-effective services drives the growth of the business.

“Large telecoms have huge budgets for spending, but nothing beats the agility and responsiveness of our firm to deliver what our partner clients need quickly,” Mr. Wolfe says. “AINEO is a registered carrier with the Japanese government and continues to produce new products and services regularly through iPBX Hosting, QuickerWeb.com, and TRIBE Support.”

Mr. Wolfe is proud of his dedicated team. Not only is iPBX the best service available, it is used by some of the world’s most valuable companies. Now is time to retire your locally installed system and join the iPBX Hosting revolution.
